OUR MISSION
The mission of the First Baptist Church of Rutland is to glorify God, the Father, and Jesus Christ, His Son, and to seek His will by worshiping and praying individually and corporately. Through the empowering of the Holy Spirit, we seek to meet the spiritual and physical needs of ourselves and others through Christian education, evangelism, outreach and the living out of our American Baptist heritage.

HISTORY OF THE
FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH,
RUTLAND, VERMONT
Organized in 1823, the first meetinghouse was erected in 1827 and used until 1872, when a larger edifice was erected at the current site. The sanctuary, including the balcony, seats 250 people and features twelve large vertical stained glass windows, each depicting a biblical musician. The Hook and Hastings pipe organ offers an impressive range and volume, which makes for a delightful worship experience.
